How to finally accomplish your overdue goals

Hi there,

Do you have projects or goals that you keep putting off? Maybe it’s preparing for a marathon, finding a new job, or—like me—writing a book?

Let me share a personal story. Twice, I’ve started writing a book and twice, I’ve stalled. But now, I’m on my third attempt, and this time, I’m fully committed to finishing it. So, I’m making a declaration: I’m working on a book for leaders about transforming disengaged, alienated teams into high-performing units.

I’m excited to share that every other week, I’ll be updating you on my progress and offering some sneak peeks and tips from my upcoming book.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming:

  • Effective Meetings Culture: In the second chapter, I’ll dive deep into creating a culture of effective meetings. You can get a taste of it in my Forbes Coaches Council article on reclaiming your time.
  • Tools and Strategies: Expect actionable advice and practical tools you can apply immediately to improve team performance.

Why Bother?

We all have goals that seem to slip through our fingers. It’s not about lacking desire or capability; often, it’s about structure and accountability. That’s why I’m sharing my journey with you—so we can hold each other accountable.

And I want to do the same for you - let’s chat. If you feel stuck with your goals, let’s talk. Find a time on my calendar and let’s get some traction for your aspirations.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support means a lot to me. And remember, it’s never too late to start or restart a goal.

Take care, Daria

Hi Reader, Yesterday I sat with the leadership team of a nonprofit. They were building their first AI governance structure. They already have tools in place. A bit here, a bit there. And then came the question I keep hearing in different forms: “We probably want more governance around all of this. But how do we even start? What’s the starting point for something that’s changing faster than we can keep up with?” It’s a fair question. And the answer tends to surprise people. You don’t start...

Hi Reader, Today, I want to tell you about the AI learning paradox. I've been noticing it lately, and you might have seen that as well. The people who are most worried about AI (the ones convinced it's coming for their jobs) are usually the last ones to learn it. You'd think it would go the other way. If you're afraid AI might replace you, the smart move is to get good at it. To make yourself the person who uses it well, not the person it makes redundant. But that's not what happens. The fear...

Hi Reader, Last week I was presenting at WebExpo in Prague — talking about the good and bad of human–AI collaboration. After my talk, one of the attendees came up to me and asked: "How do I know if my team is using AI in the right way?" It's an interesting question because, as I've written before, there is a right and a wrong way of using AI. Research suggests that when AI comes first — when people receive a summary, a draft, or an insight before doing their own thinking — their brains...
