Why I Built a Team of AI Bots (And You Probably Should Too)

Hi Reader!

Let me introduce my team. There's me. There's my assistant. And then there are the AI bots.

These are custom AI assistants that handle marketing, content creation, research, data analysis, and even self-reflection. Tasks that used to take weeks now take hours.

And no, I haven't lost my mind. I've just stopped pretending I can do everything myself.

Here's How People Are Using AI Bots

Custom AI bots aren't just productivity hacks. They're becoming something much more personal.

Nearly 40% of the most popular custom GPTs are education-focused. People are using them as tutors, language coaches, and study partners. (If you missed my last newsletter on 15 ways to learn anything with AI, go check it out—it'll make sense why this matters.)

But it goes beyond learning. People are building bots for:

Everyday assistance – automating the boring stuff so they can focus on work that actually matters.

Companionship and emotional support – yes, really. AI that listens without judgment, available 24/7.

Creative role-play and entertainment – like building your own personal board of directors. (I'll be sharing more on this in future issues, because it's wild how useful it is.)

Why does this work? Because it's personalized. It's always available. It doesn't judge you. And honestly? It's kind of fun.

From Tool to Teammates

I used to think AI was just another tool—like learning Excel or Slack. Useful, sure. But not transformative.

Then I started treating it less like software and more like a collaborator. I built bots that know my tone, my frameworks, my blind spots. They don't replace me. They extend me.

The real shift is using AI to expand what you're already capable of.

Want to Build Your Own?

If you haven't created a custom bot yet, I've partnered with the International Coaching Federation to help you build your first one.

It's called Build Your Own Custom GPT: Automate, Amplify, and Personalize Your Coaching Practice.

This is a hands-on, interactive workshop where you'll learn how to:

  • Define the purpose and personality of your GPT
  • Write powerful prompts using ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini
  • Upload and integrate your own coaching materials and IP
  • Experiment, test, and refine your GPT in real time

By the end, you'll walk away with a working prototype of your own Custom Coaching GPT—ready to support your business, enhance your impact, and free up your time for what matters most.

No advanced tech skills needed. Just your brain and some curiosity.

Because the truth is: the future of work isn't about replacing humans with AI.

It's about humans building better teams—with a little help from the bots.

Daria

Hi Reader! Last week I wrote about how AI is quietly taking over our cognitive powers—and what we need to do about it. This week's newsletter is on a more positive note: how to learn anything with AI. Because, honestly, we now have the best tutor in the world. One who knows everything we want to know and can teach us anything we need. Sure, he can also give us a bunch of crap. But using the right approach, you can learn anything you want. Fast. The Learning Crisis of Too Much Information...

Hi Reader! We talk a lot about AI replacing jobs. But the actual risk is cognitive offloading at scale. AI doesn't just automate tasks - it automates judgment. And when we hand over our thinking to machines, we don't just save time. We drain our mental engagement. A 2025 research paper found that extended AI use leads to "cognitive strain, attention depletion, information overload, and decision fatigue." The more AI thinks for us, the less mentally present we become. AI multiplies decisions...

Hi Reader! An HR leader of a European software development company shares her thoughts with me. She asked me last week: "If AI can do the analysis, write drafts, suggest strategy, then what am I supposed to be doing?"It's a fair question. And honestly? A lot of people are wrestling with it right now.We can see that now, AI isn't replacing people. But it is reshaping the way we work. And if we don't get clear on what we do versus what AI does, we're either going to waste the tool or let it run...
